Los Angeles and more...

Image
Hey there, Here we are in LA. Today Olia's left us for SF having stayed with us for 3 days, which were really full of surprises probably typical of LA. First, we attended 'IRIS' show, which is Cirque De Soleil based in LA. It was fantastic and full of computer animation in the background of the stage. The building was the famous 'Kodak' theatre on Sunset blvd. Second, was Venice beach - full of marijuana shops, skateboarders and hippies. Third was an amazing 'Hollywood' sign on the hill where we took some pics of the surrounding area. Hugs and love to all of you...

Climbing Mountain Summit at San Bruno NP

Image
Hey there, It was foggy and windy in SF but I decided to take a climb to the Summit (3,1 miles only)at San Bruno Park. It was really gorgeous out there. But the wind sometimes blocked my voice with comments. I hope you'll feel the atmosphere on the top of the summit and the mighty view of the Pacific with waves... We also drove to a small city of Burlingame mear Sf and found a nice and cosy Russian Orthodox Church there. It was a pleasure...

Stanford University...

Hey there, Today we've been to Stanford University, 30 min drive from Olia's place down USA 101S. Well, I've already been there some time ago, but this time was absolutely different as we parked a car just on the parking lot in front of the campus. It's breathtaking and grand at the same time. Ss and other people mostly drive bycicles and the whole place gives the atmosphere or classic science and scholarship. It was nice to walk around the place and take some pics. The place was founded in 1891. Really old and grand...

Visiting Indianapolis

Image
Hey there, I've just got back from Indianapolis where I stayed for 5 days with my dear cousin Dima, his dad Michael, his wife Lena and her son Vanya and Miymsya, the cat. I was really happy to see all of them and the house itself as I really feel attached to this house and a beautiful neighbourhood in Fishers, Indianapolis.I have been there several times before. The last time was in 2007. The house has become more beautiful and the garden/surroundibgs have become much better now. We spent exciting moments riding a horse Lalla at Nancy's (Dima's friend)house. The big pig who is her pet has peeed all over the carpet in the dining room after he came in it and saw us looking at him. Awful...to say the least. But Nancy's horses and lamas are so cute. Have a look. I also drove Dima's convertable Cooper Car. It was a pity not to stay for Dima's birthday party on Friday but I wish him and Lena all the very best things in life! Love and hugs...

Riding a Hourse 'Lala ' at Dima's Friend

Hey there, here I am at Dima's house in Indianapolis, Indiana. I arrived yesterday with a stopover in Denver. So the flight from SF to Denver took me 2 hours and from Denver to Indianapolis - almost the same. Dima's and fis Dad Michael from Orel met me at the airport and we had a nice talk in the evening. Today we went to Nancy, a wealthy painter, Dima's friend, who showed us her beautiful house and allowed me to ride a Hourse, but only in a stable. the Hourse is young and may be unpredictable...We really had fun The feeling of sitting on the Hourse back is incomparable, I loved it...Have a look at some pics... http://db.tt/gjAgoncB http://db.tt/UCdcV7au http://db.tt/wH7UCdyF Love and hugs...

Hello, after Big Day on May 3!

Image
Hey there, this my first post after arrival to LA and then to SF on April 28. Already a week's passed since then but so many things happened. First of all, Slava had his surgery on May 3 and it lasted for almost 11 hours - since 8am till 5:30pm. The day was split into two big parts - from morning till 1pm, then till the end. The poor Slava had to undergo a complete removal of all the remains of few old teeth with cleaning up the infection from the holes and it was done without his sleeping as he's allergic to many kinds of medication. The second half was done with local anaesthesia and his new teeth were put in their places. By the end of the day he was totally exhausted but managed to smile posing for a photo with his doctor Young who you can see in the photo. The doctor is absolutely wonderful and they (with his assistants) did a great job. Of course, only time will prove that this job is really good but so far everything is OK. Hopefully it'll be so later on as well. Mea
