Hello everyone. I've just come back from Yuzno-Sakhalinsk. My trip was amazing! I did not expect I could find there so many interesting and unusual things, which make living on an island very different from that of the continent. First of all, I saw mountains everywhere. It's so different and romantic. Secondly, dazzlingly beautiful snow and sunshine, which are very rare things in Moscow, made me feel very good. Last but not least, fish (salmon), caviar, nuts, berries etc on the market. But more importantly - children of all over Sakhalin sitting PET. They seemed to be so brave, outgoing, trendy and beautiful. I was surprised to see them like that as I expected to observe a bit timid and humble provincial kids. On the contrary, some of them could even outshadow the Moscovites. I was pleased to realize, that I was very mistaken about their look and character. There are many Korean people in Sakhalin as well as Russians, Ukrainians and some Chinese. The last community is not big and almost all of them work as cleaners and manual workers in the same way as in Moscow some people do. Exams (PET) went well. We even managed to go skiing with Glenn Hough ( my fellow examiner)and though I fell several times on the snow, my arms and legs are safe and sound.

Oh, I must say time is really flying here. We're leaving for Hanoi tomorrow and tonight I'm sending the last post from this splendid but a bit weird place - Long Hai (a tiny village near our hotel). The thing is that here I really first realized what the tropical climate is like: sudden downpours, sunny spells, thick fogs, starless nights and the last but not least - sand bugs, Yes, they are microscopic, living on sand and flying only to eat human body ( I've been eaten all over while lying on the beach with a book). Now my body is spotted and no ointment helps to stop itching. I had no such problems during my previous visits so I guess the very southern part of Vietnam is not really good for me. June - July 2023

Hey there. Many things have happened over this period.          From 22 to 26 of June we had visited Dagestan- Derbent. There we spent a really great time traveling and seeing our best friends - Aldimir and Tanya. We stayed in the same hotel and even saw a Peter’s the Great museum in Derbent. Here are some pics: On July 8 we had a huge anniversary at the restaurant “Kavkazdkaya plennitsa”, where Slav gathered 75 people  From his company ITP  and his students. It was Slav’s 70th anniversary. It was so funny and successful that all guests were really happy. Among them my sister Nana and nieces who flew to Moscow for this very purpose. It’s a very busy city where streets are narrow and lots of cars. Love and hugs to all my dearest and nearest.

May 2021- Tyumen, Crimea, Ylan-Ude and more

Hey there, It was a busy 2d pandemic year!. I've been to a number of places:  Crimea, Tyumen, and Ulan Ude. Crimea- Livadia near Yalta was on May 1-8th Tyumen took place on 14-15 May Ulan -Ude took place on May 29th Well, it was a nice place in Crimea, I really liked it. Though it was pretty cold but sunny, we enjoyed it. Second was Tyumen - it was on May 15-16. It was nice and productive. I liked the trip: My last May trip was to U;an-Ude, the Buddish countruy in Russia. It was amazing! Hugs and love to all of you... Tanya
