Hello, everyone. I just got back from Creta!

Dear all. I've not been writing to the blog as I was unable. I was on the island of Creta from 29th April to 9th May. It was a wonderful holiday which, I hope so, I deserved as I had been working with by broken wrist for so long time without taking a sick leave. I was swimming a lot, even though the temperature was not so comfortable: 19-20 C. But the weather was really warm and sunny so I could feel good after swimming sessions lying in the sun for a while. The place was beautiful, the nothern part of the island, inbetween Heraklion and Retimno. It was my second time on the island. The first one was in 1998, when we returned to Moscow to find ourselves bankrupts as it was the year of the collapse of our economy. We managed to survive and so did the island which didn't seem to have changed. It is said that Creta was the home of the most recent civilization??. In 1998 we were on the southern coast of Creta and now I can say that the southern part is more wild, less civilized than the nothern part of Creta.The sea there is more crystal clear and sparkling as it overlooks Africa. I compare these two parts of Creta as we hired a car and drove to the previous places.
I'll put some photos on the blog gradually, so that you'll be able to see some of the most impressive shots I made there.

PS: Congratulations to the FCE group that sat the examination in March. ALL OF THEM PASSED!!! Marks are really impressive: A (2 students) B (2 studenta) C (the rest). I'm proud of you guys!!!!!

My trip to Saratov came to an end on December 8th. It was fine and I had really many regrets that they had a lot of snow there, in Saratov, whereas in Moscow it's grey and sleazy. ESOL people there are really efficient and everything was well organized. My FCE examining on December 8th in Moscow was nothing special, without any unexpected things. Thanks God for that! The best news is that today I've met my new FCE group in school 1359, Zhulebino. They are all pretty young, from 8th form, and seemed to be very cute. We decided to split the group into two ones in March, after our CAE boys and girls have done the examination. I'll tell you more about the new group as soon as I know about them more. That's all for now.

Late July - August 2023 - December 2023

Hi there. It’s a shame, but I haven’t posted for so long! Here I’ll try to catch it up chronologically as this period has been full of many sad and unpredictable events:    Late July - 2023: Flight to Bosporus, area Taxim. Spent there a great time with Olia, Slav and kids. 11August - 16 August: Flight to Jordanville convent to say ‘Good Bye’ to my dearest aunt - Mother Anna. She was about to pass away. This took place on August 17, just after my leaving. Thanks God I managed to see her for 2 days and talked to her, even though it was really difficult for her.. Before that (in April 2023) Olia, David and kids visited Mother Anna. She looked much better at that time - see their photo. Next to this pic, there is my photo with her, which was taken in 1956. . Early October 2023: our flight to Belek Turkey with our friends - Lara and Sasha: it was a nice chance to distract from grievances we experienced in August. Family reunion - Dad's jubilee!!!

Dear all. It was a really busy time in my life as within one week I had so many events one by one. First, I had my aunt Irina and my daughter Olga together in my small flat visiting on the occasion of our Dad's 55th anniversary. The occasion itself took place on July 3d in a small cafe called "Gusar" not far from "Kakhovskaya" metro station. The cafe belongs to Stanislav's friend from Dagestan, Aldemir, and, as you can imagine, everything was perfectly organized with exclusive manu (Georgean and European food) as well as professional girls-dancers. They performed every 5-10 minutes and were so gorgeous and amazing that even the oldest among our guests (people over 70) could not help dancing and enjoying themselves as kids.
