Hello everyone. I've just got back from Ekaterinburg, where I was examining BEC (V), FCE and PET. My stay there was fine. It was my 4th visit to the city and I was glad to discover that Ekaterinburg had changed considerably for better. The city has become neater, many more new and business-like buildings around, huge posters, bright lights, but more importantly, really efficient and helpful people in shops and services. I loved the look of my hotel, a chain one - "Park Inn". I'm a seasoned traveller so I can say that this hotel offers a really high quality service.
The look of the church blessed after the Tsar's Faminy and a new one which is being built on the outskirts of Ekaterinburg (not far from the exam venue) are splendid. The latter is blessed after the great Russian Saint Serafim Sarovsky. Have a look at them and get the first impression. As for sculptures erected for Soviet leders (Sverdlov), for example, I can say thet they don't look good, let alone - ugly. The contrast is pretty striking. At the same time the look of Peter the Great and someone I don't know (shame on me!) looks much more impressive. I'll tell you more about the city in a week time. Bye for now.

My trip to Saratov came to an end on December 8th. It was fine and I had really many regrets that they had a lot of snow there, in Saratov, whereas in Moscow it's grey and sleazy. ESOL people there are really efficient and everything was well organized. My FCE examining on December 8th in Moscow was nothing special, without any unexpected things. Thanks God for that! The best news is that today I've met my new FCE group in school 1359, Zhulebino. They are all pretty young, from 8th form, and seemed to be very cute. We decided to split the group into two ones in March, after our CAE boys and girls have done the examination. I'll tell you more about the new group as soon as I know about them more. That's all for now.

Late July - August 2023 - December 2023

Hi there. It’s a shame, but I haven’t posted for so long! Here I’ll try to catch it up chronologically as this period has been full of many sad and unpredictable events:    Late July - 2023: Flight to Bosporus, area Taxim. Spent there a great time with Olia, Slav and kids. 11August - 16 August: Flight to Jordanville convent to say ‘Good Bye’ to my dearest aunt - Mother Anna. She was about to pass away. This took place on August 17, just after my leaving. Thanks God I managed to see her for 2 days and talked to her, even though it was really difficult for her.. Before that (in April 2023) Olia, David and kids visited Mother Anna. She looked much better at that time - see their photo. Next to this pic, there is my photo with her, which was taken in 1956. . Early October 2023: our flight to Belek Turkey with our friends - Lara and Sasha: it was a nice chance to distract from grievances we experienced in August. Family reunion - Dad's jubilee!!!

Dear all. It was a really busy time in my life as within one week I had so many events one by one. First, I had my aunt Irina and my daughter Olga together in my small flat visiting on the occasion of our Dad's 55th anniversary. The occasion itself took place on July 3d in a small cafe called "Gusar" not far from "Kakhovskaya" metro station. The cafe belongs to Stanislav's friend from Dagestan, Aldemir, and, as you can imagine, everything was perfectly organized with exclusive manu (Georgean and European food) as well as professional girls-dancers. They performed every 5-10 minutes and were so gorgeous and amazing that even the oldest among our guests (people over 70) could not help dancing and enjoying themselves as kids. I was really happy as I could see my family reunion: daughters - Marina and Olga, grandson - Stas, he's 16, and my dearest and nearest husband Stanislav altogether.
