On this bright April day I want to share with you my joy and happiness that I feel on this occasion. Eventually, I can say "Christ the Savor is alive!!!" I think my feelings and joy about this can be shared by many of you who believe in God, our Savor! After a long period of fasting (not completely, but avoiding meat, butter and chicken), I have reached this Big Day, but more importantly, now I can say again and again: "God bless us all!!!"

The question is - why should I write about Tanya if she graduated from RSSU in 2007 and now other new students are due to finish? The answer is very simple - she passed CPE in June 2007 with the 'B' and eventually e-mailed me her scanned CPE certificate. This fact in itself is really outstanding and I decided to write about it and tell you more about this very special girl. However, first of all,let us have a look at her certificate and at Tanya herself among other fellow students (she is the first on the left) in her class of would-be-teachers of group 1, graduation 2007. I'm also among them, the one on the very right (sure, you can't mistaken me for some of my students!!!). She came from a small Russian town of 'STH', I don't remember its name. But her motivation and ambition have always been incredible. These qualities drove Tanya through all three levels of the ESOL Main Suit Exams: FCE (A) in 2005, CAE (B) in 2006 and CPE(B) in 2007. I'm reflecting on the way I can help my students with speaking. I noticed that both advanced and lower level students experience the same problems - they don't structure their speaking and neglect the sounds and intonation. Very often this results in producing something monotonous and flat with the only links used 'and'/'but'/'because'. Today I've been examining my final year students and many of them really disappointed me by making such mistakes. Perhaps, I failed to explain to them that speaking fluently suggests not only fluency in itself, but ability to choose the appropriate vocabulary and structures so as to communicate ideas effectively. The pictures illustrate what they produce and what the'ups' and 'downs' of natural English look like. Sorry for that!

Look at these two guys from England an a baby lion. They reared it for some time at home, in England, then, when it reached maturuty, they were forced by the authorities to send it back to Africa and set it free in a wildlife sanctuary. They did exactly so and in a year time they returned to the wild to see what happened to their ex-friend. The African scientists warned them that the lion would not remember them, but when it noticed the two guys, it behaved like a sweet pussycatjumping on each guy in a cat's manner!!! This event, in my opinion, dismisses the common notion that grown up lions have short memories and are always agressive and dangerous. Good news!!! P.S. Sorry, but I am unable to attach the video showing this exceptionally unusual reunion in the African jungle as it takes a lot of time to download. It's a pity!

Dear all. I've got two news to share with you - the first is happy but the second - is not. The happy one is shown in the photograph. It's a reward given to school 1359 for the exceptionally good achievements in teaching in 2007. In fact, the students of this school really have proved to be among the best in all-Moscow foreign language contests (olimpiads). Among these students are many of my best FCE and CAE girls and boys. I really take pride in contributing to their success and their winning positions in the language contests. Not only is it outstanding in itself, but it'll give them a real chance to enter the top Moscow Universities such as HSE, Plekchanov Academy and others. Good luck! They really deserve this. Dear all. I haven't written for a long time as I had some problems with my LAN internet provider. Now I'm writing from my dacha and want to tell you more about my best loved CAE group from school 1359. All these boys and girls have passed FCE with flying colours, and tomorrow they are sitting their written papers and Listening CAE. They are doing this with the BKC International House and the situation in itself has caused a lot of concern from both their side and mine. The point is that I don't think doing Listening after all those written papers is a good thing as it is a kind of violation of the exam regulations. I do hope my students will somehow manage, but still the stress and pressure of the written part of the examination will inevitably affect their performance in Listening. We agreed that they would come to see me the following week and we'll decide what to do, in case they experienced problems. Anyway, what we can do now is to keep our fingers crossed for them

Hello there. I'm completing reading a book called "Easter Memory" which I bought in Diveevo and all these days I have been running under its great impression. The main personality there is a priest Vladimir Shikin, whose life is a real example of the life of a Saint. I've never thought that such people still can live among us and what he had done to people is really possible in our cruel time. The impression became even greater when I realized that I might have known him. I have two main reasons for this. Firstly, he studied in the MSSU at the same time as I did. Secondly, his face, in the early photographs I found in the book, seems to be very familiar to me. Dear all. I've been greatly impressed by my trip to Diveevo, though it was not easy to do so many things within two days we had there, and almost no sleep at all. However, it's said that "What you do in the name of God will be rewarded". Perhaps, this saying is very, very true as Marina's - my daughter, and my energy throughout this trip was unending. Now I want to publish some photos that show the mistery and the mightiness of the Russian Holy Land - Diveevo. Mind, that the big tree in one of the pictures was planted by Saint Aleksey, the son of the Russian Tsar Nicolos II. The Tsar's family frequently visited Diveevo before Revolution in October 1917 for advice and worshipping. The tree has a small inscription on the stem about the Prince. Strange as it may seem, but the tree is really very different from other trees there as if it has been accumulating energy for almost 100 years, when it was planted and now it is very strong and healthy. I've been in Diveevo with my elder daughter Marina trying to settle my aunt's business. I don't want to write about the business itself, the only thing I can say is that it brought us to the local hotel in the monastery where we shared with nuns and their relations visiting them. My experience there gave me a kind of inside look into the life of this very close community of really extraordinary people - nuns and monks. Some of those people are just laborers there and they don't have any rank, but all of them are very different and special. First of all, just imagine waking up every day at 4:30am to be on time at the service which starts at 5 am and lasts for 4-5 hours. And this is not only in the morning, but in the afternoon prolonged till 7:30 pm. I don't mind that as it's a little compared with what we can sacrifice for the God's Name. Here I am in Moscow. I've returned from Vietnam on January, 16th. It was an amazing trip, indeed. I'm full of impressions and good memories. As usual, my husband convinced me to go there, though I had some serious doubts about the weather and conditions in Winter. However, he managed to persuade me as our mission there was not only a good rest but business as well. The main problem there was my inability to access my blog since the local provider there informed me that 'blogcom' was too busy around Christmas so it was hard to reach it and I was without connection with my blog for a long time. I tried many times both during the day and at night, but in vain. We stayed in Hanoi and Danang this time and spent the New Year Day at the hotel 'Sandy Beach' in Danang. Hello everyone, I want to share with you my recent greatest achievement. Yesterday, I got my updated driving licence, which now is valid till 2017. In order to obtain it, I spent many hours in the queues in various places from GAI (Russian Road Control Body) to SBERBANK, where I waited, waited and waited. But eventually I got it and now I can drive my car without fear of being fined by our not very friendly policemen. Although traffic jams in Moscow are becoming increasingly heavy, this won't stop me from driving my car (Mitsubishi Colt), which I really enjoy. I bought it in January 2006 and have had no regrets,whatsoever. The car is maneuverable, compact and specious at the same time. Now, I can reach any place comfortably listening to the music or thinking over my plans. Well, I didn't tell you about my new FCE group, though I saw them on 22d, but I'll try to do so as soon as I know more about them. On Thursday my husband and I are flying to Vietnam. My trip to Saratov came to an end on December 8th. It was fine and I had really many regrets that they had a lot of snow there, in Saratov, whereas in Moscow it's grey and sleazy. ESOL people there are really efficient and everything was well organized. My FCE examining on December 8th in Moscow was nothing special, without any unexpected things. Thanks God for that! The best news is that today I've met my new FCE group in school 1359, Zhulebino. They are all pretty young, from 8th form, and seemed to be very cute. We decided to split the group into two ones in March, after our CAE boys and girls have done the examination. I'll tell you more about the new group as soon as I know about them more. That's all for now.

I'm writing to say that I'm leaving for Saratov tomorrov at 6p.m. by train. I'll be examining there YLE, KET, PET all day long on December 7th. Barbara Danshina, their cief administrator and her colleagues managed to set up an open exam centre there and now they've started administering exams without BC Moscow. By the way, the BC is closing down its exam office since January 1st, 2008. It's a great pity, as everything has always been so well organized by the BC. From now on, these functions will be given to a number of open centres all around Russia, which,I hope so, will continue good work and exams administration. I'll write about my first impression about the open center Saratov as soon as I get back home from there and I also hope to publish some photos. Let's get in touch then.

Let us talk a bit about my busy schedule. Because of this, I must apologize to all my CAE and FCE students for cancelling our session on 15th of November. BC Potaupchuk asked me to go to Astrakchan in order to make two talks there for some teachers from the city and the region. I couldn't refuse and thus had to skip our last session. I'll be with you on November 22d, usual time. Let me tell you more about Astrakchan. It's a small city near the Volga River and the Caspic Sea, rich in fish, caviar, oil but above all, good people. Their chef - Olga Aleksandrovna, is a really friendly and pretty woman who helped us around and managed to gather 200 people in the lecture room. People were nice and friendly. Greeted us with beaming smiles, which is very rare in itself. I did my job well in the morning, so could relax after noon. The most striking thing, though was that the school was so amazingly well groomed and equipped that I even asked people there the question:"Why's

My native town Tbilisi is in big, big trouble. The crowds of demonstrators are being attacked by police with weapons and gases. Many people are in hospitals. I'm socked by this terrible news on TV and everywhere. My sister and two nieces (aged 21 and 23) live there, not to mention many other relatives and friends. How awful is the situation there! I can't say who is right and who is wrong, but the only thing a know is that many people live in really very poor conditions: no jobs, no money, no food, miserable existence, drugs and all this is true to a great many people apart from those few with real power.They say Russians are to blame for what's going on in Georgia but I don't believe them. Russia has many problems to solve here, in Russia. Let us pray for Georgia and Tbilisi. I love this country and this city as part of me is always there.

Dear everybody, Today, I've been shocked by the terrible news from Toliatti. It is said that about 60 people have died in the bus explosion, which definitely had been arranged and implemented by terrorists. Almost all victims were either young people or young adults as it was the morning and they commuted to work or universities. This heartbreaking news can't leave me indifferent as the terrorists want to keep us constantly under fear of something terrible and be scared to death by such actions. They want us to be afraid of lving normal everyday life. But let's be more alert wherever and whenever we go and please, take good care of yourself.

Dear all, I've just got home from my flight from Ekaterinburg. It was supposed to arrive in Domodedovo, but just at the moment it started to descend, the pilot said that the weather in Domodedovo is quite foggy so we're going to hover over the area for a while until it wears off. But in reality, it turned out to be 1,5 hours of monotonous circling in the air, after which he said that the fog doesn't want to go away and we'll land in Vnukovo. It took us another 40 mins. But above all, was the waiting for a bus to pick us up from the aircraft. So, all in all, my flight to Moscow took me some 5 hours instead of 2,5. This definitely spoiled a very good positive impression about the presentations on BULATS and the teachers there. Now, I'm totally worn out and'll go to bed as soon as possible as tomorrow is my class with you to cover for Thursday. See you.

Dear all. I've got to go on a business trip to Ekaterinburg tomorrow at 12:25pm. Will be staying there for 2 days taking part in the conference held by the CenterCom annually all around Russia. Gonna speaking there about BULATS - business examination, which I tried myself in spring 2007 and got 92 out of 100. Actually, it's not very difficult but the CenterCom has become an Agent in Russia, so they need to carry out promotion in some places beyond Moscow and S-Pets. I'm really happy to fly there as I love the city and hope to enter my favourite Church, which will be a welcome change for me now, in the middle of my school year. Yesterday, I learned about a raging fire in California and San Diego. This has upset me a lot as I don't understand why so much sorrow and damage is inflicted on America, my dear country, too.Just look at the photos.

Dear all. I want to share with you my latest news. Firstly, I've been selected as an OETC (Oral Examiners Trainer and Coordinator). It's been decided after a long procedure of interviews with nearly all potential candidates in September. Before recruting several Russian OETCs,the decision had been made by the Cambridge ESOL to have more Russian involvement in the exams around Russia. Probably, you know that British involvement has dropped sharply after they had closed tha Study Center at the BC Moscow. So tomorrow I'm going to run my first Training with YLE trainees. I'm a bit anxious about it. Well, let us keep our fingers crossed for me.
